HRMC is partnering with a high-growth metal products manufacturer based in St. Louis in the search for a qualified Director of Human Resources. This position will drive HR guidance in support of this growing people-centric company of nearly 250 employees with production, warehousing, and distribution operations in several U.S. states.

YOUR JOB SUMMARY
As Director of Human Resources, you will report to the President, act as a strategic partner to the executive team, and serve as a business partner to VP's and operational leaders. Success in this role requires proficiency in the full suite of HR disciplines (workforce planning, recruitment, legal/labor law compliance, performance management, employee engagement, payroll, benefits) and the ability to align HR strategy with overall business goals.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition & Performance Management
    Oversee and improve systems for recruitment, candidate fit assessment, hiring, and onboarding.
    Ensure process for ongoing performance management (reviews) throughout the organization.
    Set and implement strategies and actions to ensure a healthy and sustainable company talent pool.

HR Administration (Payroll, Benefits, HR Systems and Analytics)
    Oversee the management of Workers’ Compensation claims.
    Lead the payroll process, ensuring accurate and efficient payroll services to employees.
    Design and administer benefit plans, policies, and guidelines.
    Conduct/review HR Analytics data to improve decisions on workforce processes and promote a positive employee experience.
    Manage the creation and updating of job descriptions.

Employee Relations
    Provide organizational leadership and direction to assist managers in successfully leading teams.
    Guide and coach managers and consult with employees as needed to facilitate effective performance/behavior solutions.
    Maintain documentation/summaries of all employee relations issues.

HR Policies, Procedures, and Legal Compliance
    Ensure compliance with all legal and government reporting regulations (EEO, Affirmative Action, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
    Maintain and update department policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines; ensures proper communication of updates.
    Ensure Health & Safety standards/compliance, including related employee training and reporting procedures.        

Learning and Development (Training)
    Facilitate delivery of required workplace training programs (i.e., Discrimination, Workplace Harassment, Safety, etc.).
    Identify training and education needs and develop and implement plans, programs, and processes to meet those needs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
    Bachelor's degree in HR management, labor law, organizational behavior, or related field (Masters a plus).
    HR Certifications PHR or SPHR Certification desired.
    Min. experience of 10 years in Human Resources, with 5 years (min) as a senior HR leader.
    Additional preferred experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning/development, employee relations, training, or preventive labor relations.
    Multi-facility and multi-state HR experience preferred.
    Demonstrated project management experience, as well as proven strategy and execution skills.
    Industry experience within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments a plus.
    Experience creating and executing tactical HR programs that solve people/business problems.
    Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative work style with all levels (blue collar to executives).
    An open and honest leadership style coupled with self-motivation and strategic thinking skills.
    Technology savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
